Benjamin J. Durst is a young Chicago artist with special needs.  From an early age he showed an instinctive flare for color and composition.  His works have represented an abstract expression of fantastical creatures, stories and emotions.

He spent several years working in watercolor and acrylic painting with established local and international artists.  Then one summer he took his first mosaics class.  The multisensory nature gave Benjamin voice through glass, ceramic, porcelain, rocks, crystals, metal and reclaimed items with his artwork taking on new dimension and clarity.
